This delightful dining place was originally built with investment from the first Eastern Palace in Singapore, and possesses a classical Chinese atmosphere. The dishes are mainly tailored after those of Chinese communities in other lands. The Eastern Palace also takes advantage of the rich culinary traditions from all of China, especially Shandong's notably delicious seafood. The restaurant's chefs also create their own dishes. All these are blended into a marvelous year-round as well as seasonal menu with both familiar and unique tastes.

Donglaishun

The Donglaishun is the only Muslim restaurant in Qingdao to have received special designation from the Qingdao Religious Association for its orthodox Donglaishun Hot Pot. This is prepared with delicately flavored, paper-thin slices of mutton from the Blackhead, short tailed lambs found in the Inner Mongolian grasslands. In addition to this unique mutton, the Donglaishun carefully chooses other ingredients and materials: preserved crisp garlic; authentic seasoning; and the traditional brass, charcoal-fired hotpot that cooks quickly without over-cooking. Donglaishun also provides diners with more than 100 authentic Muslim dishes. The Donglaishun Hot Pot is a taste of the culinary essence of Muslim culture.

Shimbashi has a reputation as the authority on Japanese food in Qingdao. The unique décor is that of a traditional Japanese restaurant and there are a number of artistic touches including a suit of classic, Samurai warrior armor handmade by Japanese craftsmen. The armor shows the delicate and sophisticated style or the period as well as the colors and decoration of the period. Shimbashi features a tatami room and the taste delights of sashimi, sushi and teppayaki. Our dishes perfectly reflect the blend of nature, art and poetry that is Japanese cuisine. Waitresses in traditional kimono create for our guests a warm and relaxed atmosphere with service that is true to the culture of Japan.

Our new Shmibashi Restaurant has an ala carte hall, three single rooms for teppanyaki, and two single rooms for Chinese food. Our restaurant uses white and black the colors of Japanese custom -- as the main decorative theme. There’s a Fuji mountain landscape on the wall in the perimeter corridor and wardrobes for kimonos behind the doors. Our new restaurant offers teppanyaki, sushi, sashimi, fried shrimp and more than 100 Chinese dishes.

New Banquet Center complex

The Hai Tian's newly redecorated banquet center facilities take full advantage of our picturesque location, between sea and sky... a literal realization of our name: hai=sea and tian=sky.

The Banquet Center Complex is truly multi-functional. It can be used for meetings, banquets, interviews, exhibitions and more, and it's equipped with a modern state-of-the-art lighting system and a LAN to permit linking participants by computer.

The Center includes six--aried--theme rooms: Qiankun, Eden, Diaoyutai, Feixia, Wudao, and Liujin. Each of these names has historical, cultural or literary meaning. "Qiankun" is from an ancient Taoist text, "Zhouyi".The name implies that Hai Tian contains a "Universe" of sincere service and good character that conveys good upon every guest. "Eden" is taken from the Book of Genesis in the Bible, and implies a relationship of unity and mutual dependence between the Hai Tian and its guests, and guests with each other. It also symbolizes the Hai Tian's fulfillment of each guest's desire for entertainment and happiness. "Diaoyutai" is a term from Chinese history. In ancient times, it was a favored fishing site of the Emperor, and now it's the name of the National Guest House in Beijing. Diaoyutai Guest House has extended its hospitality to many an honored guest including presidents and officials of other lands. The name implies that Hai Tian guests share this distinguished status. "Wudao" symbolizes the spiritual truth that we pursue and implies that sharing a meal here can help one grasp the deeper meanings of life. "Feixia" is from a classic poem written by Wangbo, describing a famous pavilion and evoking the peace and inspiration of that place. By the use of the term the Hai Tian is linked with that feeling and those exalted and exalting views of nature and beauty merging and becoming as infinite as when the sea and sky seem to merge into one. "Liujin" derives from another classic saying, the essence of which speaks to the eternal connection between the material and spiritual realms.
